Fire Guard Services

FDNY-certified fire watch — documented for every inspection.

When a fire alarm, sprinkler, or standpipe is taken out of service — or when hot work is happening on your site — NYC requires a certified fire watch on premises until the system is restored. City Bay deploys F-01, F-02, F-03, F-04, F-60 / F-89 holders within hours, with a clean paper trail your AHJ and insurer will accept.

What's Included

Every post comes with the same standard of care

NYC FDNY F-certificate officers

F-01 (commercial), F-02 (impaired sprinkler/standpipe), F-03 (commercial premises), F-04 (places of public assembly), F-60 / F-89 (hot work). Matched to your scenario.

OSHA hot-work supervision

Welding, cutting, brazing — we supervise the permit window, monitor for ignition, and shut work down if needed.

Inspection-ready logs

Fire watch log, rounds documentation, sign-in/sign-out times — the paperwork an AHJ inspector or insurer will actually ask for.

Same-day mobilization

Most impairments don't schedule themselves. We dispatch certified officers same-day, weekends and holidays included.

When NYC requires a fire watch

Per the NYC Fire Code, a certified fire watch is required during impairment of fire alarm or sprinkler / standpipe systems (FDNY guidance generally applies a 4-hour-out-of-service threshold within any 24-hour window), during hot-work operations under most permits, in places of public assembly when occupancy or system conditions trigger it, and during specified high-risk events. Failure to post a fire watch when required exposes ownership to violations, fines, and insurance complications. We make sure the right F-certificate holder is on premises before the impairment begins.

Documentation your AHJ and insurer will accept

Every fire watch shift produces a signed log: officer identity and F-certificate number, start and end times, hourly patrol checkpoints, the systems under impairment, and any conditions observed. We email a PDF copy to the property's contact and retain the original. When the AHJ or your insurance carrier asks for proof — and they do — we have it on file and can produce it in minutes.
